UFC 128 Jones vs Shogun

UFC 128 Jones vs Shogun

while boxing is a dead sport with the best fighters in the world too scared to fight each other. UFC is putting on some amazing fights and this UFC 128 wont be any different very exciting fights with a potential fight of the year main event card.

Main Card

Jones Vs Shogun

Shogun coming into this fight with a long break between fights. Most people would be worried, but Shogun is an experienced fighters and will go down as one of the greatest fighters in MMA history. Jones is the new fighter on the block with an amazing upside, young, explosive, and trains hard, sound familiar? Well it should it should sound like a little younger version of Shogun. Even though there is nothing more i want to see other then Anderson the spider laying flat out on the mat knocked out, i have a hard time believing Shogun is a one and done champion. I see Shogun winning this fight, i don't think it will end fast 1st or 2nd round. I believe Shogun will use his experience and slowly pick John Jones apart. Jones has a lot going for him and i think will be the champion in UFC one day. I cannot doubt Shogun and his experience other then his injuries Shogun is at the prime of his MMA career. Shogun will show he is not a one and done champion and end Jones great run in the Third round of this championship 5 round fight.

Other Fights on Card

I will only predict and post thoughts on some of the fights left. I want to post on some that i have some knowledge about only. Faber vs Wineland will be a great fight for the two fighters to see where they stand in this division. I have Faber winning this round coming out and putting on a good show like most of his fights he is experienced and i think wants to shine now with UFC backing this division on pay per view. I can see Faber having a good first round followed by a second round take down that will lead to a sub and win for Faber. To the next fight  Akiyama vs Marquardt, this is going to be a though match as to see where both these fighters are heading, Nate will need this win more, i think if Nate looses this fight he has a very real chance of being cut from UFC, because his next opponent will not be any easier if he does not get cut, Vitor, Sonnen, and Bisping i think all have a more going for them then Nate. He might be looking for another promotion to fight in very soon without an impressive win and showing here. With that being said i have Akiyama winning second round TKO, and sending Nate looking towards where to turn next because to remain on top of this division is hard next three to five fights might be a tougher test if Nate looses this fight. He needs this fight and needs it more then most think. I have one more fight to talk and predict this one is a though one for me because i had such high hopes with Cro Crop entered the UFC i did not think he would start hugging fighters in middle of there fights, but he seems to somehow always get a win when he needs it, and he needs a win here if he looses to a less experienced fighter then him. He too might be looking for retirement or a different promotion to fight in which if cut might end up in strike force fight Fedor, which i would love to see rather then him get beat up by younger less experienced fighters. This very well might be the last fight i pick where i favor Crop but i think he has this fight left him, his next fights will not get easier if he doesn't hang up soon and might ruin some of his legacy, for the younger MMA fans who don't remember how great of a fighter Crop was when he was younger sad to say.

UFC 127- My thoughts

Okay this will be my first blog and post, very new to this. I probably Should've read some other blogs for examples before but I am no pro at editing or grammar anyway so probably wouldn't help.

Main card Penn vs Fitch

I like to start with the big fight it's the one I feel I have most knowledge about and can give predictions and my thoughts on most accurately. After being a BJ fan for a a few years now (roughly 4-5 years) I have seen some great highs and some great lows, his losses to Edger had me wondering if maybe he was at the decline of his career. BJ has a chance to restart his debate at one of the greatest fighters in history remember he has fought some great fighters GSP, Machida, yes he has fought former lightweight champ Machida, that's how great he can be as a fighter. Now to his fight with Fitch. Fitch should be a great test to see how serious Penn is about the rest of his fighting career as a loss to him can have him looking at which direction to go. Fitch is in a zone his training and diet is top notch it seems like he is ready for a shoot at the champ with his next win, BJ will be a test. I think BJ is looking to show people that those losses at lightweight are behind him and he is ready to make a run and remind us all why he is the prodigy. In this fight with Fitch I don't think BJ stands a chance with Fitch and his training if it goes past the 2 round into the third round, but that's all depending on how serious BJ is now and where his head and training is at. If Fitch trys to stand with BJ in the first two rounds and doesn't try to use some ground game to push BJ endurance Fitch will loose print it sign BJ at a title shoots it's BJ's fight. Clearly fitch will try to take him down BJ has great take down defense overall. Fitch has is some great wins leading to this fight the the only thing that concerns me is he has never fought a striker quite like BJ and the level of his striking is far ahead of Fitch. In Fitch's fight against GSP he got out struck 131-37 with nothing else to show no takedowns no passes and no subs! I guess it's time to get on with it and predict the fight remember my thoughts on it. Even though BJ also got destroyed by GSP, I think GSP is on a whole other level when it comes to the 170 division with no one standing a chance at him. I believe BJ is out to prove he has another run left him and if GSP is gonna go up in weight to fight the spider this leaves this division for him for the taking. This will be motivation hopefully for him to take his training serious and get his head back in his fighting, I see a late 1st round knockout by BJ maybe very early 2nd round knockout (within 1 min of start) and this will open up a possible title shoot for top two contenders for division if GSP moves up to fight spider remember GSP vs BJ will probably never happen again unless spider destroys GSP, but if that happens that might change whole landscape of 185 division with Anderson not much left to prove. BJ will bring it and will remind people why he is the prodigy. Good luck BJ and don't let me down lol ( Frankie Edger)

2nd Fight card

Michael Bisping vs Jorge Rivera

I wont spend too much time as i did with the BJ fight because i believe this is a no brainer for most people and most mma fans. Bisping has fought better comp and has more experience as well as better trained fighter, like this fight i will be shocked if it goes past first round. Michael Bisping i think will look for the knockout and will make his impact know on this division with this fight. Rivera is a good/decent fighter but no where near the type of figther that bisping should be fight at his level this is a shoe in win for Bisping. First Round KO for Bisping anything different will be a contender for upset of the year (yes its Feb).

3rd card Fight

George Sotiropoulos vs Dennis Siver

I'll start off by saying i don't have too much experience watching George heard some things and read some forums but not too much knowledge of him and his fighting history. This will be a test match for Dana White to see where these guys fit in this division, both these guys with BJ in the division do not stand a chance or anyone else not named Frankie Edger does. If George is looking to stand and have a good showing for the fans and make a statement he does not win this fight Dennis a under rated striker i believe will have his way with him on his feet. On the ground George will work his game and try and catch Dennis in some locks or subs for a quick finnish longer this fight goes the more a chance Dennis has at getting a KO on his feet. I see Dennis winning this fight ethier by having a good take down defense or catching George with a hook when George goes for the take down.
